PTY-0002: PATTAYA CITY TOUR – VIEW POINT & BIG BUDDHA
Phratumnak Hill is located at the border of South Pattaya and Jomtien. The top of the hill is one of the best viewpoint overlooking the crescent bay of Pattaya. It is a popular spot amongst the tourists, especially at the sunset and at night when the city is lit up. Wat Khao Phra Bat, the Monument of Kromluang Chomphonkhetudomsak, the founding Father of modern Thai Navy, Phra Phut Sukhothai Cholatan, Buddha image in Subduing Mara gesture and Thai Navy's radio station are also located on the hilltop.
Wat Khao Phra Bat
Wat Khao Phra Bat or Wat Khao Phratamnak is located on Khao Phratamnak. It lies opposite to the viewpoint on the hill. There is a imitation of the Buddha's footprint, Buddha images of the Day and beautiful mondop. The Monument of the Father of modern Thai Navy, Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak is within a short walk.
Wat Phra Yai Constructed in 1977, Wat Phra Yai houses the golden Buddha image of Phra Buddha Sukhothai Walai Chonlathan or Luang Pho Yai in Subduing Mara gesture. The image is approximately 18 meters high. The stairways feature Naga. There are also 7 Buddha images of the day on the temple ground.
